It's probably because we are always coming in from the same direction (West). So I can't really make any comparisons. But the one arrival that we always get assigned is fairly simple. It doesn't have many stepdown fixes and crossing altitudes as do the arrivals into New York.

Conversely, the arrivals and departures from Madrid are way more complicated than anything we have to deal with in the states.

Hope this helps.
LenLen (Barfbag)https://www.blogger.com/profile/16457712945996628748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5254425194697307553.post-64712211687501479182009-10-18T23:25:32.533-05:002009-10-18T23:25:32.533-05:00Hey Len,

Nobody seems to care about it too much.
LenLen (Barfbag)https://www.blogger.com/profile/16457712945996628748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5254425194697307553.post-85133556254373235462009-10-16T12:15:00.603-05:002009-10-16T12:15:00.603-05:00Hi Len,

Keep it coming!

What happened to the procedure that has each pilot eat a different meal in case of food poisoning? Or was that ever a rule in the first place? Maybe I am watching too much "Airplane!". :-/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5254425194697307553.post-5372525114406906902009-10-04T12:27:43.874-05:002009-10-04T12:27:43.874-05:00Hi Dispatcher,

We always have to laugh at that!

I'm not sure if I'd call the radio reception we get from Santa Maria very "romantic", but it does have a certain nostalgia to it!!! Shanwick and Gander are slightly better though.

That whole HF thing is probably reminiscent of radio transmissions from back in the early days of radio. Way before our time I'm sure!

LenLen (Barfbag)https://www.blogger.com/profile/16457712945996628748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5254425194697307553.post-10092433871104302592009-10-04T10:44:50.334-05:002009-10-04T10:44:50.334-05:00Hi Len,
